The kind and helpful staff is masterfully guided by the owner of the restaurant, Nico Antico, a young Venetian entrepreneur. The restaurant is much loved by Italian tourists who also appreciate the excellent coffee. Café Miranda is also a restaurant where you can stop for lunch or dinner.

Located on a side street in Es Pujols, this place stands out for its colorful decor and young, cheerful atmosphere. Run by friendly people from Romagna, Italy, who pride themselves on their hospitality, here you can enjoy a breakfast made with only high-quality ingredients. There are numerous options to choose from, including juices, smoothies, and homemade cakes. The menu also includes classic filled croissants, available in vegan versions too.

For families, there is also a ‘family breakfast’, a dish with pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon, fresh fruit, maple syrup, and orange juice. For those who love healthy breakfasts, the bowls with yogurt and fresh fruit are unmissable. The prices are average for bars on the island. Until 2023, the name of this place was ‘la kasa dei kolori’.

Cafetería Espardell is one of the historic establishments on the seafront of Es Pujols. Thanks to its many tables, it always hosts many tourists in a friendly and informal atmosphere. On the menu, you will find both classic croissants to accompany coffee or cappuccino, but also numerous proposals for a great savory breakfast. The menu also includes eggs cooked in different and tasty ways, and richly filled sandwiches.

The staff is courteous and eager to fulfill any request. It is open for both lunch and dinner, specifically from 8:30 AM until 2 AM.

Big Store

The Big Store is a true institution in Formentera and a must-visit for anyone looking for a breakfast in a young and carefree atmosphere. Located just a short walk from the church of Sant Francesc, this colorful and story-filled spot will captivate you from the first moment. Founded in 2004 by Mario Losio (former manager of the Italian singer Jovanotti), known to everyone as “Il Losio”, the place is frequented every year by well-known faces from television and beyond.
For breakfast, you can enjoy an excellent cappuccino, croissants, homemade cakes, smoothies, infusions, and natural juices. For those who prefer savory options, there are also filled “tostadas” such as the one with cheese, ham, and guacamole, or tasty toasts.

But at the Big Store, besides breakfast, you can also go shopping. Inside the restaurant, there is a small corner where you can find a very original merchandising: you absolutely have to buy the t-shirt with the slogan “È questa la vita che sognavo da bambino” (“this is the life I dreamed of as a child”), a phrase from a famous Jovanotti song and the motto of the founder Mario Losio. The prices are excellent and the staff is kind and efficient.

Located in a small alley not far from the church of Sant Francesc, Café Matinal is a historic spot on the island and an unmissable stop for breakfast in Formentera. Opened in May 1988, it was created by Ina and Josep with the intention of serving breakfasts, brunch, and a select range of quick dishes as in a bistro. The high quality of the raw materials used is certainly the strong point of this place where you can enjoy a genuine island atmosphere.

Homemade bread and jams, organic and locally sourced products are always featured in the various combined menu options (there are numerous data-cfasync="false" data-cfasync="false" types of brunch) or to be assembled to your liking. The menu also includes vegan options. Closed on Sundays.
