Taxi Formentera: information and prices
Getting around Formentera by taxi is a choice that everyone makes. Whether out of necessity, for example, once you arrive at the port of La Savina to get to your home or hotel, or at night to avoid driving on poorly lit roads, the taxi is a comfortable, fast and above all always available means of transport!
The taxi service on the island, during the summer, is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week. In winter, to book a taxi, you can call from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Where to get a taxi
There are three taxi ranks on the island where you can take a taxi and these are located in the main villages of Formentera. This way you will save the cost of hailing a taxi.
One is in La Savina and is located just outside the ferry ticket office. Another is in Es Pujols, not far from the information office. Finally, in Sant Francesc, the rank is near the La Mukkeria ice cream parlour.
How much does a taxi cost in Formentera?
The price of a taxi ride depends solely on the distance travelled and not on the duration of the journey. The cars do not have a taximeter, but each driver has a table showing the cost of the different routes.
The taxi driver will consult it upon arrival at the destination and the price may vary depending on several factors.
Call cost: 1.30€.
Suitcase: 0.60€ each.
Night rate: from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Weekend rate: from 3 p.m. on Saturday to 7 a.m. on Monday.

Taking a taxi in Formentera is a comfortable and practical solution from different points of view. If you travel in company, the cost per person will be negligible.
A total of 25 taxis are available on the island, plus another 24 during the summer season to meet the increased demand. One of these is also equipped for the transport of disabled people.

Unfortunately, there is no smartphone app for booking taxis and there is no Uber service on the island.
